33 hours
It is with great pride & deep joy that I announce the birth of our little girl Mary Magdalene. Maggie was born on January 15th.
It is with deep sorrow that I share the passing of our Maggie on January 16th.
Maggie had Down Syndrome.
Maggie had a serious heart defect.
Maggie had a body not made for this world.
For months we wanted nothing more than to have the chance to meet her. To have had 33 hours with her was a miracle.
We are so very sad. We are also incredibly and overwhelmingly grateful for her life.
We would do it all again to have even that little bit of time with her.
St. Mary Magdalene is perhaps best known for being healed by Jesus & later becoming witness to his resurrection. We named our Mary Magdalene praying desperately for the former. It is now clear that our daughter's name is perfectly fitting for her because of the latter - as a tiny witness to the risen Christ. Our Maggie is at home with Jesus.
Thank you for all the love & support you have shown our family during the course of this journey. We can never fully explain to you how much we depended on your prayers lifting us up.
Our Lady, mother of us all, pray for us.
St. Mary Magdalene, witness to the resurrection, pray for us.
Baby Maggie, sweet little girl, pray for us.
