Maggie is finally Home!

Greg and Jamie spent a glorious day with Maggie and got to peacefully hold her as she went home to be with Jesus.  God be praised! Despite all medical efforts, her little heart was unable to continue pumping blood how it needed to.  Jamie and Greg were able to sit with her and hold her while she slept her way into Heaven, seeing every moment of her journey as a gift.

Greg and Jamie are so grateful God has given them the opportunity to testify to the mystery and awesome wonder of life.  In Jamie's final moments with Maggie, she cooed, "I would do this all over again to spend just these days with you in my arms," as only a mother could. And so we see again, the courage to bear witness to life, when it's hard and yet filled with the promise of the forever of Heaven. Miracles come in all different packages, and we are so blessed to have had the miracle of Maggie's life with us these nine months in the womb and these two days to hold her.

Your prayers have been the grace lifting Greg, Jamie, Maggie and the family into the place of peaceful surrender. So, on behalf of my brother and sister, thank you for your love and constancy in storming heaven.  Your prayer is a part of the glory of God and proves how we should all live as the Body of Christ, knowing that together, in our joy and our sorrow, we are truly one.

We know Maggie is awaiting us with the Father, and we will be able to see her running around singing a melodious song.  We don't know yet how we will celebrate her life with anyone but will let you know tomorrow. In the meantime, rest in the gratitude that we all share for the precious moments of Maggie's sweet life and for the tremendous example of faith and love that Greg and Jamie have so generously shared with us.

  1. Greg and Jamie, you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Maggie was so fortunate to be a part of your loving family if even for such a short time here on earth.

  2. You incredibly strong family- I'm so happy she was able to join your family if only for a short while, she's among the lucky for that as are you for getting to meet the little doll. While we can all be grateful for such a peaceful passing, I'm certain it's still with sadness. Maggie is so loved as are you all. The Ervins will prevail as only they can, I'm sure of that. 3. I recently heard something quite beautiful that I thought of as I read of Greg's journey with Mary-Magdalene. There are some souls so eager to be with God in heaven that they bless a family with their very brief presence, touch those souls with grace, and then go home to God. It sounds as though your family has been blessed by one of these special souls.
